Licensing (RN / APRN ) & Credentialing Specialist (USA Healthcare)

We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented RN / APRN Licensing & Credentialing Specialist to manage nursing licenses and advanced practice certifications across multiple U.S. states. This role focuses on ensuring compliance with state nursing boards, maintaining active licensure, and supporting provider enrollment with government and commercial payers.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with RN and APRN licensing, including multi-state licensure and compact states.
Key Responsibilities
Manage RN and APRN license applications, renewals, and verifications across U.S. state boards
Handle multi-state licensing and compact license processing under the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)
Process APRN certifications (e.g., NP, CRNP, CNM, CNS) including state-specific requirements
Maintain provider records in systems such as CAQH, PECOS, and NPPES
Track expiration dates and ensure timely renewals to avoid lapses
Coordinate with state Boards of Nursing and national certifying bodies (e.g., ANCC, AANP)
Support enrollment with payers including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurers
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and regulatory guidelines
Assist with audits, document collection, and credentialing verifications
Communicate directly with providers regarding licensing status and requirements
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or related field (preferred)
2–4+ years of experience in RN/APRN licensing, credentialing, or provider enrollment
Strong understanding of U.S. state Boards of Nursing requirements
Experience working with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) enrollment processes
Familiarity with CAQH, PECOS, and NPPES systems
Knowledge of APRN roles: Nurse Practitioner (NP), Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Preferred Skills
Experience with multi-state APRN licensing and collaborative/supervisory agreements
Knowledge of controlled substance registrations (e.g., DEA)
Experience with payer credentialing (UHC, Aetna, BCBS, etc.)
Ability to manage high-volume licensing workflows with strict deadlines
